About EAC
The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) is the state-owned electricity utility responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in Cyprus. Established in 1952, EAC plays a central role in ensuring the country’s security of supply, reliable power system operation and long-term energy sustainability.
EAC operates and maintains Cyprus’s electricity infrastructure, serving residential, commercial and industrial consumers across the island. As Cyprus advances its energy transition, EAC is actively involved in the integration of renewable energy sources, grid modernisation initiatives and the adoption of European energy market practices and regulatory frameworks.
Through continuous investment in technology, infrastructure and operational excellence, EAC supports Cyprus’s strategic objectives for decarbonisation, energy efficiency and system resilience.
