Welcome to the family! Central Energy Trade Automates with Navitasoft's Energy Trading Software

NOTE: Central Energy Trade Kft. has since been renamed to EMvia Energiakereskedelmi Kft.

When you checked the news on January 1st, odds are that you read something about the first baby that was born in your country or city. It may not have made the headlines, but we too welcomed a "baby" on the first day of the year: the on-boarding of our first cloud client took place at 00:01. This was the moment the company then known as Central Energy Trade adopted our Trader Suite in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud, having chosen our platform for its fully digital, data- and event-driven end-to-end automation of its trading business processes.

Central Energy Trade is a new entrant to the Hungarian retail energy market, providing a range of services including energy procurement and management, energy generation, and energy-efficient technologies for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. With a focus on delivering cost-effective energy solutions for all market types, the company specializes in electricity, natural gas, and coal trading (wholesale). The adoption of our Trader Suite in the cloud will enable Central Energy Trade to automate its trading processes and stay flexible in the ever-changing energy market.

Energy trading is a complex and dynamic industry that requires organizations to adapt quickly to market changes in order to stay competitive. Automation of trading processes can greatly benefit organizations by increasing efficiency, reducing operational costs, and improving decision-making capabilities. Our cloud-based energy trading software, Trader Suite, offers a range of features that enable organizations to automate their trading processes and stay agile in the face of market fluctuations. The software's ability to manage trading portfolios and automate position management, combined with its flexibility to adjust services for market needs, allows organizations to make the most of their energy trading operations.

The Trader Suite comprehensively manages Central Energy Trade's trading portfolio and automates its position management with the following features:

  • Customers can define their own workflows and automate intraday, day-ahead and long-term trading activities, as well as supporting active retail portfolio management. Additionally, the software provides a full overview of the retail network topology, available and booked cross-border capacities, and metering data necessary for daily operations.

  • The end-to-end automation includes data exchange with system operators, such as scheduling with the power transmission system operator or meter data access from distribution system operators. The software also comes with an integrated price curve and pricing formula editor, which enables automated work with rich input data sources of various energy exchange prices and products, as well as foreign currency rates.
  • The Settlement module of our energy trading software calculates the energy quantities and the price of the product based on the fixed purchases and sales of consumer and commercial products during the settlement period. The system generates settlements for both wholesale partners and consumers, and the accounting data can be exported to Excel or linked to a billing system.

  • The use of cloud technology in energy trading also offers significant advantages over traditional on-premises solutions. The cloud allows for seamless scalability and feature expansion, as well as providing a highly available, secure, and cost-effective platform for running trading operations.

  • Central Energy Trade can now create its own custom reports for internal use thanks to the suite's data access ecosystem, which also supports REMIT data provision. The rich API framework and AWS cloud infrastructure provides flexibility to adjust services for market needs, high performance and seamless scale up and feature expansion based on market demand.

The onboarding process at Central Energy Trade demonstrated the strength of our cloud strategy, as it only took two weeks to set up, parametrize, train key users, and provide them with sufficient time to test and train on all end-to-end business processes before going live. We are pleased to welcome Central Energy Trade among our Trader Suite Cloud users and look forward to seeing them grow and supporting their energy trading needs in the future.
